It is a beautiful neo-classical Spanish Colonial/California Mission design with thick walls and a red tile roof, a style that first took hold in San Diego during the Panama-California Exposition of 1915-16

Leo Carrillo Ranch, Carlsbad, CA
The San Diego Urban Sketchers Meetup group met at the Leo Carrillo Ranch today.
This ranch is a former working ranchero
once owned by Leo Carrillo, an actor who appeared in the tv series Cisco Kid. We
had the chance to sketch any adobe buildings, windmills and about 2 dozen
peacocks roaming the grounds.
