Heritage Park, San Diego California

Heritage Park was the location of the San Diego Urban Sketchers Meetup this weekend. This is a county park located close to Old Town, San Diego. It measures almost 8 acres and was developed to preserve examples of  San Diego’s Victorian architecture.

Plaza de Panama, Balboa Park, San Diego, CA

The Plaza de Panama, in Balboa Park, San Diego, California was originally built as a setting for the Panama-California Exposition of 1915-1916. This was the meeting place for the San Diego Urban Sketchers on March 23, 2014. The sketchers are Alicia, Carol, Dominique, Doug, Jane, Lionel, Lydia, Rachel and Stephen.

Cabrillo National Monument, Point Loma, CA

The San Diego Urban Sketchers met at the Cabrillo National Monument in Point Loma this morning.
These our sketches, the group and some a FEW of the sights we saw.

Spreckels Organ Pavilion, Balboa Park

 

The San Diego Urban Sketchers Meetup group got together at Balboa Park for an afternoon of sketching. We started out in the main plaza which is surrounded by 3 museums and 2 restaurants. We moved over to the Spreckels Organ Pavilion to enjoy the performance at 2 pm. The Spreckels Organ is one of the world's largest outdoor pipe organs, it was donated to the City of San Diego in 1914 for the Panama-California Exposition.
