The meetup at the Mission San Diego de Alcala was touch and go due to the rain forecast. About 10 minutes after we arrived there was a very short downpour but enough to send us scurrying under the walkway shelter. We had a nice group and finished some great sketches. This mission was the first of the 21 missions and is know as the Mother of Missions.

Australia who visited, and sketched with the San Diego Urban Sketchers in March.
He traveled from San Diego to Paris before returning to Australia.He made a guest blog post on the Paris UrbanSketchers blog describing his adventures
and also posted his sketches.
The San Diego Urban Sketchers met at the Oceanside Pier yesterday. Now in its sixth incarnation (built in 1987), the pier is a popular fishing spot. Surfing is also very popular on both the North and South sides of the pier. These are our sketches:
