Street parking is not permitted until 9:00 A.M.
The Desert Garden contains more than 1,300 plants, including succulents and drought-resistant plants from around the world. The peak blooming period is January through March; however, these plants are interesting at any time of year because of their unusual shapes. North of the Park Boulevard Pedestrian Bridge near the Inez Grant Parker Memorial Rose Garden.

I wasn't able to get to the Zoo today, so I stayed local and sketched around Vista Village.

Avo Theater and Curbside Cafe.

Clock across the street from the locks (of love?). There are some really neat public sculptures in the area too.

We are still keeping cool by the coast for our North County Meetup this month. Cedros Farmers Market runs from 12-5 pm every Sunday at Cedros Avenue and Rosa Street.

I will try to be at the street corner of Cedros Avenue and Rosa Street. I will be wearing a black "San Diego Urban Sketchers" T-shirt. Meet at the same location at 2 pm to share photos and take a group photo.

Zoro Garden, Balboa Park

Zoro Garden is a 6-acre sunken garden within Balboa Park in San Diego, California. During the 1935-36 California Pacific International Exposition it was the site of the Zoro Garden Nudist Colony, which featured mostly-nude performers rather than practicing nudists. It is now planted as a butterfly garden.

We were on TV!

The San Diego Urban Sketchers entered their film about sketching at the Oceanside Pier and it was accepted into the Oceanside Film Festival for viewing. Earlier this week it was shown on a local Community Channel, KCOT. The video showed the urban sketchers in action, their finished sketches and a bit of the Oceanside Pier area.
