How the San Diego Urban Sketchers Choose Their Subjects

The San Diego Urban Sketchers met on the corner of 3rd Avenue in Chula Vista, California. The view from this corner included Fuddruckers, Memorial Park, and the Third Avenue Street sign. I asked the group how they chose the subject of their Urban Sketch and some of their answers were quite interesting.

Main Street Vista, Vista Village - San Diego Urban Sketchers

The first minute of this video shows the San Diego Urban Sketchers and their sketches created on Main Street, Vista, CA. The second part shows street art on and around Main Street.

Los Rios Historic District - Urban Sketchers 2019

Shiho Nakaza and Debbie Thornhill organized our 3rd Annual Urban Sketching Event at Lost Rios Street, San Juan Capistrano. In attendance were members of Los Angeles Urban Sketchers, San Diego Urban Sketchers, San Clemente Urban Sketchers, and The Long Beach Sketching Meet Up. This video shows the artists, their sketches and a bit of the Los Rios Historic District.

Old Town, San Diego - San Diego Urban Sketchers

Twiggs Street and San Diego Avenue was the meeting place for our event in March. This was a special event to greet two visiting Urban Sketchers, Jean-Claude from France and Claudia from New York. One of the perks of being an urban sketcher is meeting people from all over the world!
