San Diego Urban Sketchers at Amici Park January, 2015

  1. Hi San Diego Urban Sketchers!

I'm still new at this blogging stuff and wasn't sure how to contact you as a group.

Anyway, I'm an American teaching English at a Japanese high school. Two other teachers and I will be taking a group of 11 students to San Diego for some intensive English conversation classes in March. To get our group prepared for San Diego and the U.S., we are all giving short presentations about some things that we have researched about San Diego.

I would like to get your permission to print out some of your sketches (at a very small size - 2x3 inches or so) to show my group. I would like to introduce them to some parts of San Diego and mainly, the Urban Sketching movement. I'm a member of the Facebook group (although I haven't posted any sketches yet!) and have been a fan of Urban Sketching for a while now. I'm hoping to get some of the students interested in sketching so that they can think about making some sketches of their memories in San Diego.

I would really appreciate your understanding in this matter. Thank you!

  2. That is ok with me if you print for educational purposes and not to reproduce. I suggest you contact the artist individually as I can only speak for myself, Lydia Velarde. www.artyvelarde.blogspot.com or Lydia Velarde on facebook.

    1. Thank you very much, Lydia! Yes, I want to print only enough copies for the students who are going, which means 11 copies. I just want them to see some examples of urban sketching in San Diego. What would really be cool is if they get interested in sketching and want to meet some of the Urban Sketchers San Diego members for a mini-sketching session!
